If your dump trailer won't dump, it can be stressful, especially if you are stuck at a job site and you can't unload your cargo.
Most of the time it's a simple trailer wiring issue that you can fix on the job site in five minutes.
Read ahead for trouble shooting tips or watch our short 2-minute videos to fix your dump trailer loading issues.
If your trailer will only lift or lower in one direction, you may be having a remote or coil problem.
Checking your remote
Open your remote with the four screws on the corner and make sure that all contact points are touching the buttons. If the contact points on your remote are not hitting the buttons, the dump will not raise or lower.
Replace the cover and test the remote again.
Replacing the Square Coil
To check if your coil is the culprit of why your dump trailer will not raise or lower, grab a metal tool with a rubber end and place it against the nut on top of the coil and hit the down button. If the coil does not become magnetized and pull against your tool, then you may need to replace the coil.
To replace the square coil, grab a pair of pliers and undo the nut on top of the coil, pull it up and replace it with a new one. Connect the colored wire on the bottom port, and the gray one on top.
